About WTF Tariffs
WTF Tariffs is an independent, nonpartisan tracker of every tariff Donald Trump has imposed or attempted to impose across both terms. It exists because the existing trackers are written for trade lawyers and policy professionals, not normal people.
Sourcing
Every entry cites primary sources only: the Federal Register, court dockets, and USTR notices. Before publication, each entry is cross-checked against the Atlantic Council, Tax Policy Center, and Wiley trackers โ these are read as references, never republished.
The auto-flag pipeline
A scheduled job polls the Federal Register API daily and opens a draft pull request for any new tariff-related notice. Nothing publishes automatically. A human reviews each draft, attaches amendments to the correct tariff entry as timeline events, and only then merges.
Editorial stance
Blunt but factual. The site calls incoherent policy incoherent and admits when the situation is chaotic. Every economic estimate is attributed to its source โ no guessed numbers presented as fact.
How to cite
Link directly to the tariff's page. Example: WTF Tariffs, "Liberation Day" Reciprocal Tariffs, retrieved 2026-07-16.
